Hey I'm Degly Pava, Senior Extended Reality Specialist and CEO in Tokyo, Japan. My expertise lies in creating cutting-edge Extended Reality experiences that have garnered attention not only locally but also from big players in countries like Japan, USA, and Colombia.

Senior Extended Reality Specialist – Manager at STYLY Inc. July 2024 – Present

  • Coordinated a Unity-based space exploration game demo designed for Apple Vision Pro called Astroscoop, showcased at MWC 2025 as part of KDDI’s forward-looking XR initiative; contributed to STYLY’s growing reputation in immersive gaming and experiences.
  • Led global developer outreach and bilingual partnerships for STYLY, facilitating collaboration between Japanese and international teams; built strategic relationships with MIT, Parsons School of Design, and leading XR developers across the US, Korea, and Latin America.
  • Drove platform growth through mentorship, technical workshops, and global event presence—supporting over 700 developers and contributing to a catalog of 50,000+ published XR contents; featured at Tokyo Game Show, MIT Reality Hack, SushiTech, AWE, and other major industry events.

  • Developed core AR systems powering mobile games like ARPuzzleGame, AnimalPal, and ARgamemadeEZ, released in 173 countries and featured at Universal Studios Japan.
  • Collaborated with global gaming giants including CAPCOM and Nintendo, leading cross-functional teams and managing external developers to deliver polished AR gameplay experiences.
  • Pioneered AR glasses development through Qualcomm’s AR Developer Pathfinders Program, focusing on multi-device collaboration, seamless UX, and high-performance mobile-to-headset interactions.

Founder / XR Engineer at Omni Applications LLC & LucidDreams S.A.S April 2021 – September 2023

  • Created and launched high-impact AR experiences across TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat driving over 291 million lifetime interactions and helping brands deliver immersive marketing and gaming campaigns through full-platform XR strategies.
  • Lead XR developer events in Colombia in collaboration with XRCol, building strong ties with the Meta Oculus Start community and supporting local creators; prototyped original game demos including an environment-reactive VR shooter built for spatial gameplay.

Making an animated Avatar

Created my own avatar with ThreeJS and GLSL. Also added an AR logo that you can place anywhere using your phone.

Using MediaPipe for a Parallax 3D Effect

Experience where I take a facemesh from a webcam feed and use it to track the movements of the user in order to give a Motion Parallax effect. Useful for Augmented reality experiences.

3D Reconstructions using Colmap and MeshLab

An outdoor scene reconstructed from 1983 frames from a video. This mesh was obtained by feature extraction on Colmap and then parsed in MeshLab

Realtime 3D Visualizer

Developed using THREE.JS and GLSL. A research based web simulation that will show you the color composition and light elevation of a specific video. Available also as a VR experience, tested in Oculus Quest 2

HoloBrain 2.0

Project developed with the help of Microsoft Garage. A Holographic brain floats in space to teach Neuroanatomy students about its parts and how to read and understand MRI.

AR Car Tracking

Using Vuforia Image Trackers, an Arduino developed car and a HoloLens device, we created this OpenXR Application that lets you play a Mario-Kart-esque game where you get powerups when you hit the special orbs

Online Clinical Simulation

As a UBC faculty of medicine research project, we used augmented reality to give life to Annie, the mannequin that would teach students how to perform PCR and other medical techniques. We used ARCore and ARKit for mobile development.

Facial Emotion Recognition

Using Deep Convolutional Neural Networks and a whole lot of reading about emotions, I developed a 65% accurate Facial Emotion Recognition software using OpenCV and CUDA. It even shows nice emojis

Company specialized in providing augmented reality solutions for e-commerce, retail, healthcare, marketing & advertising, gaming, education, industrial and associated sectors. Our goal is to bring Augmented and Virtual Reality to the regular customer. Based in The United States

XR Development Fellowship 2018-2019

As a Visiting International Research Scholar in Canada I was in charge of the first version of the HoloBrain project in collaboration with the Microsoft Garage Internship programme. Developed a volumetric rendering of an MRI scanned brain efficient enough to work on HoloLens v1 .

Lead Developer 2017-2019

Developed a NetLogo software based on Industrial Engineering classes of Product Management. This simulation was focused in the areas of Material Requirements Planning and Scheduling

IronHacks Fellow and Developer @ Purdue 2018

One of the researchers who made Purdue - UNAL Fall IronHacks 2018 a reality. Also, developed a HTML and Amazon Web Services (AWS) research based software focused on helping civil engineers and architects find the best way to build an energy efficient building by using data obtained from EnergyPlus processing, Open Data and Matlab Cloud Computing for costs calculation.
